Private label products undergo continuous chemical and microbiological analyses to assure their proper organoleptic properties and quality. In cooperation with accredited external labs, all products are checked for:

To ensure the freshest produce, we carry out weekly checks, where our fruit and vegetables are checked for residues of plant protection products, and we also detect for antibiotics in the meats we sell. We also check the labels of all our products to assure the validity of their indications, and the correct and lawful information of the consumers regarding the ingredients, origin and nutritional value of every product that can be found on our shelves.
Quality control lab in the METRO SA Central Warehouse in Oinofyta, Viotia
The fully equipped Quality Control Laboratory at the METRO SA Central Warehouse in Oinofyta, Viotia, carries out daily in situ quality checks (testing of chemical, microbiological, photometric parameters and macroscopic characteristics) at the product delivery stage, and examines on a weekly basis numerous samples of the company's private label products.
